Sharon May-Davis

Sharon’s Background and Philosophy

Sharon is one of the world’s leading experts in the biomechanics and musculo-skeletal system of the horse. Her passion has lead her all over the world working with top performance horses and sharing her exceptional understand of the equine.

Sharon’s devotion to performance horses and her comprehensive understanding of associated anatomy and athletic ability has seen her develop specific techniques relevant to various equine disciplines and rehabilitation. As a direct result, horses have improved their athletic capabilities and the record books verify their accomplishments. However, none of this should be achieved without the knowledge of what lay beneath the outer layer of hair and skin. With this in mind, Sharon is always striving to understand the variations that lie within and she offers regular dissection workshops. In addition, Sharon has taught subjects at various educational facilities for over 15 years and spoken at many seminars, expositions and workshops in Australia and overseas.

Sharon has done a great deal of research into the congenital abnormalities associated with the equine skeleton, particularly in relation to the thoroughbred horse. In addition to completing four Masters theses, Sharon also has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Equine), Advanced Certification Horse Management Equine Body Work, Advanced Equine Massage, Equine Myofascial Release, Equine Cranio-sacral Techniques, and the Certificate of Honour (Honourary) Midway College Kentucky.

Nicknamed ‘The Bone Lady’ because of the skeletons she researches and articulates; and ‘Equine CSI’ because she digs and investigates multiple causes of either death or limiting factors; Sharon is a world renowned Equine Therapist and Scientist with over 35 years of experience.
